I would like to inform you of all the volunteer opportunities we have at the Houston Geological Society. The HGS will be 100 years old in 2023 and having great volunteers is what has made us the largest and oldest Geological Society in America today. We need you to help keep us moving forward!
Conferences
Applied Geosciences Conference
• Mudrocks Conference happens every year in March. The planning committee is made up of over 50+ industry professionals from all over the city. Planning for the conference begins in May of every year and goes until the conference date. Volunteers consist of Session Chairs, Graphics, Sponsorship, Marketing, Logistics, Core program, Student Poster Program, etc.
•Geomechancis Conference happens in November every-other year. The planning committee is made up of over 30+ industry professionals from all over the city. Planning for the conference begins in January the year of the event and goes until the conference date. Volunteers consist of Session Chairs, Graphics, Sponsorship, Marketing, Logistics, Student Poster Program, etc.
• Africa E&P Conference happens in September every-other year. The planning committee is made up of over 30+ industry professionals from all over the city. Planning for the conference begins in September one year prior to the event goes until the conference date. Volunteers consist of Session Chairs, Graphics, Sponsorship, Marketing, Logistics, Student Poster Program, Seismic Showcase, Data Wall construction, etc.
