HGS Office & Staff
Meet The HGS Staff
Name: Andrea (Andi) Peoples, HGS Office Director
Hometown: Juneau, Alaska
University: University of Alaska
Fun Facts: I used to “climb” rocks in Alaska…Does that make me a Geologist in training?
Quick Bio: I grew up in Juneau, Alaska by way of Tennessee. I met my husband of 24 years at the University of Alaska in Anchorage. We moved to Texas in 1992. I am an avid hunter and have a great deal of experience with both gun AND bow hunting. On the weekends, you can typically find me with my family at our deer lease- if you can find me in my camo ;). I have 3 daughters which include a Chef, a Diesel Mechanic and a high school sophomore that is currently an FFA Officer. I am also very active with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as a member of the transportation committee. Yes! You could say I am a very busy lady.
Name: Jacky Jordan, HGS Office Administrator, and Web Content Manager
Hometown: Houston, Texas
Fun Fact: I have a rock and mineral collection might be as impressive as the one at the HGS office!
Quick Bio: I am a born and raised city girl from the inner loop of Houston. Both of my parents are Geologist/Geophysicists as well as active members of the HGS. My parents instilled in me, from when I was young, a great love and appreciation of rocks and minerals which is reflected in my personal collection of geodes. I guess you could say I am an honorary geologist! My father has served many positions on the HGS Executive Board and was most recently the President for the 2016-2017 term. I have a wonderful dog named George that can sometimes be found playing at the HGS office- or sleeping under Andrea’s desk!
