Ever needed a contact for information, advice, or job referral?
Most professionals build contact networks, but some are better at it than others. How do they do it?
This course provides information on effective networking using the phone, Internet, and day-to-day interactions and then reinforces the concepts with practice sessions. A systematic exploration of the three elements of successful networking will be discussed. Then, in practical sessions, participants will identify and confront the personal hurdles that prevent development and maintenance of an effective career network.
The course will also include a panel discussion, focusing on with whom and where participants might want to network in the upstream energy industry. Panel members will represent the various disciplines of geoscience, petroleum geology, petrophysics, and land.
This course is intended for upstream energy professional geoscientists, petroleum engineers, petrophysicists, or landmen.
