Constantin earned a M.S. from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. His field work included NE Mexico (La Popa basin) and focused on salt tectonics, sedimentology and deltas. Back in Romania, he mapped caves and did a restoration project in the Geological Reservation Repedea Hill, Iasi, Northeastern Romania. Here in Texas, Constantin teaches at Lone Star College; inspiring students and getting them excited about geology.
Constantin has already put a new field trip on the HGS calendar where participants will  kayak the river around Columbus Texas. His field trip will be looking at geomorphology of modern river systems with emphasis on sedimentary processes as analogues for ancient outcrops. Contact Constantin at platonpc(@)gmail.com

Radhika Sangani- Finance Committee
HGS is fortunate to have a young professional take over the important Finance Committee, and work with the HGS Treasurer. The Finance Committee looks at options to invest HGS cash in conservative bank investments, and earn the Society additional income.

Radhika is a geophysicist at Borehole Seismic LLC. She leads a team of geologists, petroleum engineers and geophysicists who work together to meet the needs of clients actively drilling wells.  Radhika earned an M.S. in geology at the University of Buffalo, New York. Her thesis was on the structure of the Mina deflection in Mono Lake, CA with Implications for paleoseismology. She Integrated and interpreted 3D seismic reflection and well log data from Black Point region in Mono Lake, CA, to analyze the structurally complex Mina Deflection, and its effect on future volcanism.  She conducted field work in the Black Point fissures region and did a structural slip analysis on faulting. Her experience with math and numbers will benefit the finance committee.

HGS is lucky to have these great people working on key committees!
