Manfred Frass
A seasoned geoscientist and petrophysical expert with over 35 years of international experience in the energy sector, spanning Latin America, North America, and Europe. Graduated in 1981 from the School of Geology, Mines, and Geophysics at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), and began an academic career as an Instructor and Assistant Professor at UCV’s Earth Science Institute from 1982 to 1991.
In 1992, transitioned to the oilfield services industry with Schlumberger, where, over a decade, held technical and commercial roles in wireline and LWD interpretation across Venezuela, Trinidad, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, and Continental Europe. Positions included ID Geologist, Sales Manager, and Marketing & Sales Engineer.
In the 2000s, led business development and technical support roles in Mexico for Schlumberger DCS and Veritas Geophysics. Joined Weatherford in 2007, where he advanced to Global Technical Support and Marketing for open-hole and LWD services, then served as Subsurface Geoscience Interpretation Manager for Latin America.
From 2014 to 2020, worked at Occidental Petroleum (OXY) in Houston, first as a Senior Petrophysical Advisor and later as a Global Petrophysical Consultant, supporting unconventional reservoir evaluation and petroleum system modeling.
Most recently served as Technical Engineering Manager for LWD at Nabors International (2020–2021), overseeing tool performance and service quality across operations.
Throughout his career, he has bridged academic insight, technical interpretation, and commercial leadership to deliver value in exploration, development, and production settings.
