HGS Applied Geoscience Conference (AGC) 

"Integrated Approaches of Unconventional Reservoir Assessment and Optimization"

The HGS organizing committee of the “Mudrocks"  Applied Geoscience Conference (AGC) has an annual goal of developing a high quality technical program which facilitates the discovery and sharing of applied geoscience advances within the technical field of unconventional reservoir characterization, especially in the areas of assessment and production optimization.

This AGC - two (2) dat technical event, is held annually in the first quarter of each year.  The committee invited technical program typically includes 20 Oral Presentations wthin 8 Sessions, poster Presentations, and industry cores.  In addition, the 2017 event will include a Keynote Luncheon Speaker. The titles and content focus of the eight separate oral sessions are developed by the organizing committee to reflect the changing specific industry needs and research advances.  Thecommittee also develops an extended abstrat technical brochure as an important document of the event.

The committee (first organized in 2006) is composed of 50 plus members that hold extensive expertise within the field of unconventonal reservoir characterization from 40 plus organizations.   The HGS General Organizing Co-Chairs are Frank Walles and Andrea Peoples.

The conference is designed to include and integrate the applied geoscience advances occurrng within Industry, Government and University.  The event serves as a combined education and scientific advancement service for the HGS member community. 

The HGS provides this industry developed event to fulfill  a need for a focused sharing of advancing applied geoscience technologies within mudrock reservoir characterization. It has been highly popular since inception with demand typically exceeding venue capacity.
