Volunteers Needed for the HGMS Show

The Houston Gem and Mineral Society (HGMS) Show needs volunteers!

Volunteer Information: If you are interested in volunteering for the Houston Geological Society (HGS) booth, sign up with Dr. Heinlein, you can reach her at heinleins@uhd.edu. Volunteer shifts are only 3 hours. The HGS booth is more Geo-focused; for example, students will hand out salt rock bags to guests, discuss poster displays on geoscience careers, posters on oil and gas, and posters on being a Geologist in general. There will be handouts with information you can review so that you can discuss these items with the guest confidently.

If you would like to help with the HGMS show, volunteer shifts are only half days. You can choose to sell tickets, operate the Information Booth, provide security assistance, and oversee the hospitality room. More importantly, they will need Ticket Takers, Swap Areas, Cashiers, and people who like kids to help in the Dino dig and Youth Area. Student volunteers will be assigned to fill in for areas where they do not have enough members to fill.

To sign up, click on the link, Volunteering at the Annual Show - HGMS - Houston Gem & Mineral Society, and complete the form.
