Manager, Digital Operations

TGS provides multi-client geoscience data to oil and gas Exploration and Production companies worldwide. In addition to extensive global geophysical and geological data libraries that include multi-client seismic data, magnetic and gravity data, digital well logs, production data and directional surveys, TGS also offers advanced processing and imaging services, interpretation products, permanent reservoir monitoring and data integration solutions.

Job Summary:
The Manager of Digital Operations is primarily responsible for influencing departmental strategy and managing the daily operations of the department business area by anticipating, guiding development of, and implementing required systems, procedures and programs to consistently meet TGS standards for quality, productivity and customer satisfaction. This includes all aspects of Digital Operations for GPSW Well Data to include automated sourcing, processing, curating, enriching and quality control of oil & gas production, completion, frac and other similar data. Further, this position ensures the team’s success in enhancing and proactively capturing data, identifying outliers and applying corrective measures for the improvement of the company’s data products. The position will partner with leaders in the company’s Product Management, Software Development teams, etc. to define and improve efficiency and quality of data within Digital Operations. The successful candidate will seamlessly blend passion for technology, creativity and innovation with business, strategy and project management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
o Defines the parameters of the Digital Operations team including cross-functional collaboration to define processes for new digital products, governance structure, KPIs, quality measures, outlier thresholds, communication plans and reporting requirements.
o Sets short and long term digital data strategy within the Product Management, Data Governance and Development teams.
o Researches and develops best practices for digital operations.
o Keeps apprised of and aligns customer needs with business unit’s goals and strategies; and adapts the Digital Operations workflows accordingly.
o Provides guidance and influences business unit and departmental strategy.
o Manages all financial and budgeting responsibilities of the digital operations teams.
o Oversees performance and quality standard reviews to ensure outcomes meet client expectations.
o Establishes and monitors all key metrics in support of meeting/exceeding initiative objectives.
o Troubleshoots and creates action plans to quickly and effectively address problems.
o Day-to-day management of the team.
o Provides continual team coaching in analytical and proactive approaches.
o Takes responsibility for own safety, and complies with all instructions given regarding health, safety and the protection of the environment.
o Ensures the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment as required and reports any hazards, accidents or injuries to immediate supervisor.

Required Experience: 

Job Requirements (Education and Experience):
o Undergraduate degree or greater in Science, Math, Management or related field required
o 5+ years of digital operations experience required (oil and gas industry experience, with focus in E&P data and Data Analysis, is strongly preferred)
o 2+ previous management experience required
o Previous product management preferred
o Database technology, automation technology and/or GIS experience and understanding strongly preferred (Microsoft SQL Server is a plus)
o Previous experience in Data Analytics solutions strongly preferred
