CVGs: Volunteer July 19th, 11-3pm
for a Geopalooza! children's festival
Geopalooza! A Hard Rock Anthology is a summer-long exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science that celebrates geoscience. RockFest! just increases the excitement level.
What is happening on July 19th? In the Grand Hall, the Museum will hold a Guitar Hero II™ contest, with participants vying for prizes like guitars and gaming equipment.
Elsewhere in the Museum, volunteers will pass on their enthusiasm about geoscience: Volunteers will interact with the public at three crafts stations in the Grand Hall. In addition, volunteers will staff three 'show and tell' stations in the Paleo Hall as well as interpreting inside the Geopalooza! exhibit and the three geoscience halls.
If you would like to volunteer, email Inda Immega, the committee chair, at immega@ swbell.net and the event's volunteer coordinator, Araceli Piña, apina@hmns.org. If you have preferences (such as preferring or disliking crafts, or preferring to interpret a certain area or hall), please let us know.
Please check in at the Volunteer Office on the ground level of HMNS at 10:45. Do not come much earlier because we will be setting up and will not be in the office. Plan to stay until about 3pm, even though the contest closes at 2pm.
