Waste gas is becoming more of a problem as produced gas content increases in H2S and/or CO2. As pipeline regulations become stricter, due to pipeline safety requirements, not being able to sell this stranded gas may become a bigger problem. Additionally, power requirements usually increase with field age, while deregulating power may be adding to your power costs. This presentation will discuss engines that can burn 'dirtier' gas, which can be coupled to induction generators to produce electricity in the field. This may help solve your stranded and waste gas problems, reduce operating costs and maybe even generate revenue. Additionally, power and holistic field optimization will be discussed to aid in proper engineering of the power system and maximizing field value.
