Sunday, October 16, arrive anytime between 10:00am- 3:00pm
The Whiskey Bridge field trip is an opportunity to collect a wide variety of marine fossils including gastropods, bivalves, scaphopods, corals and even sharks teeth at one of the most prolific sites in Texas. Several geologists from the Houston Geological Society will be on hand to help with identification of your finds and answer questions. There will also be brief lectures on fossils and fossil collecting, the stratigraphy of the Early Tertiary, Eocene in Texas and how the geology of this site relates to oil and gas exploration.
