The Public is welcome to our final, family friendly, Earth Science Week activity for 2010. We will meet in Galveston, at the entrance to the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum on Pier 19. I will have a sign-in table setup just outside the gift shop/entrance. Those that have pre-registered here on this HGS website will have reserved tickets and can show up at any time between 12:00 noon and 4:00pm to receive your free entrance tickets.
Onsite registration is available and we will hand out free tickets as supplies last. We are limiting the number to a total of 300 free passes. After all the free tickets are gone, you are still welcome to come join us in the museum and participate in the kids activities and visit with our geoscientists and petroleum engineers as you learn about an offshore drilling rig and hydrocarbon exploration and production. Regular museum ticket prices apply.
Let us know if you are a teacher. We have more information on where to get lesson plans, download class activities, and find out what other teacher resources are available from Ocean Star Drilling Rig and Museum, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Houston Geological Society.
The weather looks like it will be nice on Saturday, so come on down to Galveston and enjoy an afternoon with us.
