Award-winning students will attend f rom many Gulf Coast Universities. The current scho larship recipients will be invited to attend.\n \n This year'\;s Scholarship theme is "\;Expa nding the Horizon for Geoscientists in the Next Ce ntury"\; and will be addressing important them es: helping geologists succeed in their careers\, and managing the workplace so they can benefit and thrive. \; Learn about careers in environment al geoscience\, and Carbon Capture and Sequestrati on (CCUS)\, a new skill area expanding for young g eosciences. The Scholarship Night will be hosted b y Fang Lin (Chevron Manager of Hydrocarbon Charge in Houston). Past Scholarship Night Chair Charles Sternbach\, and Past HGS President Jeff Lund\, wil l be on hand at the event as well. HGS President W alter Light and HGS Board members are excited to p articipate in the program.\n \n Scholarship Night features Monique Velasquez\, General Manager of Ch evron'\;s Global Exploration Review Team. Ms. V elasquez recently spoke at AAPG-SPE'\;s URTEC o n a panel titled "\;Workforce Direction: Uncon ventionals Take Conventional Skills."\; She al so was featured at the AAPG International Conferen ce in Cartagena Colombia on a panel about women in geoscience. She has 18 years of industry experien ce at Chevron\, including working North Slope of A laska and geophysical mapping in Texas.  \;\n \n Interested in how to get involved in  \;Car bon Sequestration and Storage (CCUS)? \; Schol arship Night will also feature Alexei Vyssotski\, General Manager of CCUS in Chevron'\;s New Ener gies Division. Alexei started in geology by studyi ng environmental science at Sam Houston State Univ ersity. He completed a Master'\;s degree in geo logy at Rice University.
