As c oncern\, litigation\, and regulation \;about P FAS grows\, so does the need to understand what th ey are\, where they show up\, and how we can measu re them accurately.\n \n In this presentation\, we &rsquo\;ll break down the basics of PFAS chemistry \, \;and the methods used to detect PFAS in wa ter\, soil\, and other matrices. We&rsquo\;ll also cover topics such as PFAS precursors and total or ganic fluorine.\n \n Another big piece of the puzz le is sampling. PFAS sampling guidelines are infam ously strict because of concerns about accidental contamination. But are those worries always justif ied? We&rsquo\;ll walk through \;recent findin gs from a study that examined how often cross‑co ntamination happened in the field.\n \n By the end \, you&rsquo\;ll have a clearer understanding of t oday&rsquo\;s PFAS testing methods\, the science b ehind them\, and how environmental professionals c hoose the right approach in a world where PFAS gui dance and regulations keep changing.\n \n Speaker: \n \n Brittany Neff\, Technical Specialist\, Pace& reg\; Analytical Services\n \n \n \n Brittany Neff is a PFAS Technical Specialist with Pace®\; An alytical. With a strong foundation in analytical c hemistry\, Brittany spent 8 years in the pharmaceu tical industry before transitioning into the envir onmental sector\, where she worked directly with P FAS as an analytical chemist \;. Her experienc e includes PFAS sample preparation\, LC‑MS/MS wo rkflows\, and reviewing PFAS data for accuracy and quality. She later worked as a project manager\, helping connect sampling needs\, method requiremen ts\, and reporting expectations. In her current ro le at Pace®\;\, Brittany focuses on helping cli ents understand PFAS testing processes\, laborator y capabilities\, and regulatory expectations.  \; \;In her free time\, she enjoys golfing\, c amping\, relaxing at the beach\, listening to live music\, and doting on her two rescue pups\, Maui and Freya.\n \n  \; CATEGORIES:Meeting CALSCALE:GREGORIAN DTSTAMP;VALUE=DATE-TIME:20260211T170500 DTSTART;VALUE=DATE-TIME:20260211T170500 DTEND;VALUE=DATE-TIME:20260211T210200 LOCATION:Los Tios Restaurant\n 9527 Westheimer Rd\n Houston \, TX 77063\n United States\n URL:https://www.hgs.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=2689 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
