 sources for Our Future&quot\;\n October 12-18\, 20
 25\n \n &nbsp\;\n \n Earth Science Week (ESW) bega
 n in 1998 under the auspices of American Geologica
 l Institute with a goal to bring awareness of the 
 importance of understanding Earth sciences and the
  stewardship of Earth.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Since its ince
 ption\, ESW has grown to international importance.
 &nbsp\;&nbsp\;In 2024\, ESW events were observed i
 n all 50 states\, the District of Columbia\, Puert
 o Rico\, and Guam\, as well as 23 countries.&nbsp\
 ;&nbsp\;The ESW website was accessed by individual
 s in 175 nations\, territories\, or regions per AG
 I.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;ESW 2025 will be held Octob
 er 12-18 with a theme of &ldquo\;Energy Resources 
 for our Future&rdquo\; and in cooperation with the
  Houston Museum of Natural Science\, the Houston G
 eological Society (HGS) will be sponsoring an ESW 
 event at the Museum on Saturday\, October 11\, fro
 m 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Paleontology Hall
  Lobby.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;\n \n This event is free with
  admission to the Museum.\n \n The HGS event will 
 have stations that will help participants of all a
 ges explore Texas Geology\, Micropaleontology\, Fo
 ssil Wood\, and Everyday Uses of Common Rocks and 
 Minerals. There will also be rock and mineral give
 aways for youngsters and a limited number of Earth
  Science Week resources kits available to educator
