Application to Become a Member of the HGS

Qualifications for Active Membership or Emeritus
1) Have a degree in geology or an allied geoscience from an accredited college or university; or
2) Have a degree in science or engineering from an accredited college or university and have been engaged in the professional study or practice of earth science for at least five (5) years.
3) Emeritus Members are those who have attained the age of 65 and been an Active Member for at least ten years. Qualifying Active Members may apply here or to the Membership Chairman (not to the Executive Board) for designation to this category.

Qualifications for Associate Membership (including students)
1) Be involved in the application of the earth or allied sciences.
2) Be a full-time student enrolled in geology or in the related sciences.

Administrative Year: July 1 through June 30.

Annual dues are $24.00 ($12.00 of your membership fee goes toward the HGS Bulletin); Full-time students and Emeritus members pay $12.00

Payment forms: online credit card (when form is complete) or check made payable to HGS to be mailed to HGS office, 14811 St. Marys Lane Suite 250 Houston, TX 77079
 
NOTE: You must meet the qualifications for membership and be approved by the Board of Directors before your membership is active.
Membership is not automatic upon payment of dues.
