Event Description

Oct. 8. Earth Science Week kickoff:
The Family Earth Science Festival at the Houston Museum of Natural Science is our main event of the year.

With the help of our sister Earth Science societies, we will put up and staff learning stations throughout the three Earth Science halls, stamping children’s “passports” as they progress, and awarding prizes at the end of the journey. Scouts can register to complete these and additional activities which will earn them a special activity patch.  We’ll award prizes to winners of our school contest and show off the Mayor’s proclamation.

We need help from about 10am for setup to take-down after 4:30pm.  Contact the Museum of Science committee to volunteer for this Saturday, or the Earth Science Week Committee (McRae and Burton) to learn more about ESW.

Comments

More informatin will be posted as the event nears.  If you represent a geoscience society who would like to participate, please contact the ESW committee (McRae and Burton).
